ANNUAL REPORT – 2021-2022
The academic year began amidst the pandemic situation in the month of June 2021. Classes were conducted online for Std. I to XII.
Results of the AISS examination 2020-21 was declared on 3rdAugust,2021. Adwith CA was the school topper with 89.4%. Aryananda Biju came second with 88.8%. Angel Mary came third with 85.4%.
Results of class XII was declared on 4th August 2021. Vanilakshmi B was the school topper with95.6%. Adarsh N L came second with 89.4%. Midhun Xavier came third with 85.6%.
The classes for class XII and X were conducted online from the month of May 2021. For classes I to IX and XI, sessions began in June 2021.
The election of the students Council was held online in the month of June 2021. Investiture ceremony was conducted virtually in the month of July 2021. Unit tests, Mid Term examinations and Term exams were conducted on various dates.
NEET examination was conducted on 11th of September in the school with the COVID protocols being followed.
Various important days and festivals like Guru Poornima, Ramayana month,Independence Day, Onam, Navaratri, Gandhi Jayanthi, Republic Day, Martyrs day, Kerala Piravi and so on were observed virtually. The children created videos of the programmes which were compiled by the staff and were sent to all the parents. World Environment Day, International Yoga Day, National Reading Day, Quit India Day, National Eye Donation Day, Hindi Diwas were observed with due importance and respect and programmes were conducted online.
Offline classes began for standard I to XII from November 2021 as per the instructions from the Kerala Govt. Hybrid classes-both online and offline- were conducted. Keeping the safety of students writing the board exams in mind, classes from I to V went back to online at the end of November. Term I Board Exams were held in the months of November and December for class X and in the month of December for class XII. SDKY GurukulaVidyalaya was a self-centre.
As per the directives of the Govt., students aged from 15 to 18 were vaccinated in the school premises on 13th January 2022.
Workshops and webinars
Students attended career guidance classes by Mrs Minu Mathew (CA) and Mr Vishnu Sankar.The students attended webinars on “Cyber Security”,“The need for SQAA”, “Innovative Pedagogy”, “CBSE competency based education” and “Exploring the virtual space safely and smartly”.Parents attended a session on “How to help children manage stress”.
The Principal attended a workshop in two phases on Pedagogical Leadership by the CoE, Trivandrum. The teachers attended workshops in different months of the year.
Achievements
Students took part in several interschool competitions held online and got prizes and certificates. They actively participated in “Krithi”-Art and Craft competition by BhavansNewsprint,Velloore, “Flair”-Drawing and Painting competition by AssissiVidyaniketan, ICAI Commerce quiz, SWAPASYA by Bhavan’sVidyaMandir, Eroor, “NOVICE NOUVEAU”-Literary cum art contest by ChinmayaVidyalaya, Vaduthala, “AKAM CBSE Expression series”, Maths Club competitions by SreeNarayana Public School, Poothota.As part of Honourable Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme-POSHAN ABHIYAAN, students participated in the pledge to discuss malnutrition, its impact on society and value of healthy and balanced diet. In connection with Azad Amrit Mahotsav, several teachers, students and parents sang the National Anthem and uploaded their videos. All of them got certificates for the same.
Mrs ShubaVarma was the recipient of “Best Teacher Award” bestowed by the Management, for the academic year 2021-22. The Indian Institute of Hotel Management bestowed “Best Teacher Award” to five teachers of the school. They were Sagina Das, Srividya S, ShubaVarma, SindhuShenoy and RekhaBalachandran.
The Management acknowledged the hard work and sincere efforts put in by six of the teachers for their post-graduation in their respective subjects, amidst the hectic schedules of classes and extra-curricular activities.
