Yoga for Self, Yoga for Society

SDKY GURUKULA VIDYALAYA celebrated International Yoga Day and World Music Day on June 21, 2024. Mrs Asha Mukesh, Yoga Trainer was the Chief Guest of the programme. She addressed the gathering on the importance of yoga for studies, overall health and enduring sustainable lifestyle. This year, the theme is ‘Yoga for self and Yoga for Society’.Mrs Asha Mukesh explained the ‘Ashtangayoga’ and the children did yogasanas like Vrikshasana(Tree pose), Trigonasana(Triangle pose), Brahmari Pranayama and simple meditation. The children performed yoga dance thereby conveying the importance of yoga to keep our body flexible and healthy and to feel peace of mind.

Blue Colour Day

The Kindergarten section of SDKY Gurukula Vidyalaya celebrated Blue Colour Day with enthusiasm and happiness. The children were dressed beautifully in different shades and hues of blue. An array of blue coloured objects were at display thus making the students have a clear sense of the colour and its importance. Blue Colour Day was an amazing learning experience for the tiny tots.

Annual day 2023-2024 Bhadrapadham

The SDKY GURUKULA VIDYALAYA , Eroor celebrated its 17th Annual Day on 26th January, 2024. Many eminent  dignitaries were present at the Annual day celebration including Former DGP Mr. Rishi Raj Singh I.P.S, members of the School Management and  members of the School Education Board. It was a special and memorable day for the Eroor natives as the theme for the Annual day was ‘Bhadrapadham’, a divine  dedication to the Goddess Pottayil Amma.

The students were accompanied with their parents, grandparents and other elders. The program started at 5:00 P.M. with the auspicious ‘Lighting the lamp’ ceremony. The  students who had represented the school on different platforms and had brought glory to the school were awarded with the  prizes of appreciation and the prizes for proficiency were distributed to the students with outstanding  academic performance. ‘The Best Teacher’ award for the academic year 2023-2024 was given to Mrs. Asha K P for her great effort.

The cultural programmes commenced with the students of Kindergarten entertaining the audience with their adorable dance performances.Soon after their tiny steps, the programme continued with the mesmerizing and vibrant dance and drama performances. The songs for the Annual day performances were penned by Mrs. Seena Gopalan, Faculty in the Department of Hindi and the music was composed by Mr. Renjith Rajan, Faculty of Music. The parents kept cheering for their children till the end of the programme.

Achievements of students in 2023-2024

SDKY GURUKULA VIDYALAYA  is  proud of the students who  added feathers to its cap.

1.Apsara Raj of class IX got the second prize for the Pencil Drawing competition organized by Assissi Vidyaniketan, Kakkanad.

2. St. Antony’s school, Kizhakkambalam conducted Talenzo and Niya S Anoop of class VII bagged the first prize for her clay model. Niya S Anoop also bagged the second prize for clay modelling in Bhavans Adarsh Vidyalaya, Kakkanad.

3.Our students  participated in Graffititi competition conducted in AJ Hall, Kaloor conducted by St. Paul’s International school, Kalamassery and secured the 4th place with a cash award of Rs. 1000/-

 

4.Ingenious Innovators Expo was conducted on 1st of December by SBOA Public School and 2 of our students of class XI -Akash and Parthiv got the ‘genius’ title among 62 other students of other schools.

5.In the District level Karate championship tournament, the following children brought laurels to the institution

Abhinand  B S – 1st prize in Kumite

Adharv Shaji – 3rd prize in Kata

Pradhakshin – 3rd prize in Kata

Adwaidh Krishna – 2nd prize in Kata

6.Sastra Sadas – competitions in Sanskrit were conducted by the Sanskrit College, Tripunithura and our students bagged prizes. Sooryagayatri of class VI got the first prize in Sanskrit recitation,  Jhanvi of class IX got the second prize in Recitation, Sivapriya of class IX got the second prize in the quiz competition.  Punnya of class VI also participated .

7.Oorja is a competition meant only for the students of Kindergarten.  Our studetns participated for the same and everybody got prizes.  They also participated for Kidsfest conducted by Rajagiri Public School in Kalamassery on 11th November, 2023.

                                  

8.Students of the school  participated in ‘Gyan’ based on Mathematics on 20th January, 2024.

9.Students of classes IX and XI were taken to Naval Base as part of Navy Week celebrations and they visited Naval gallery and the ship Dronacharya on 20th of November 2023.

10.Kochi Sahodaya organized the CBSE Athletic Meet in SNVP school on 17th and 18th of November, and Gowrinath MA of class IV secured the second place in the shotput event.

 

11. Our students performed a musical drama based on Women Empowerment in the Ernakulathappan ground as part of the 26th International book festival.

 

12. Niranjana Sunil Kumar participated in the Mar Theophilis Every Rolling Trophy elocution competition.

13.A talk on Young Innovators Programme  was given to the students  of classes IX and XI on 12th of January, 2024.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION 2023

Christmas celebration was held on December 21, 2023 for PreKG and KG children and on December 22, 2023 for children from classes  1 to 12. “Christmas isn’t a season. It is a feeling.” SDKY Gurukula Vidyalaya celebrated the festival of God by welcoming it with holy carol song, Santa Claus, scintillating dances  symbolizing the spirit of Christmas. The dance performances included Angel dance, Tree dance, Bell dance, Stocking dance, Candy cane dance, Snow man dance, Reindeer dance, Jingle Bell dance and Margamkali. All the students and staff rejoiced the day wholeheartedly .
